10 August 2022 In this webinar we spoke to Peter Atherton, the Founder and CEO of Community Led Initiatives (CLI). CLI is an incredible social enterprise that is taking concepts of service co-production and lived experience and taking them to the next level. Peter spent most of his life in and out of the care system and prisons with problems around drugs and mental ill-health being a constant factor in his day-to-day life. We spoke to him about his story and how he used his own experience of recovery to set up a social enterprise which is transforming the lives of people who often see no way out of the situations they find themselves in. This session aimed to help social enterprises explore and articulate their enterprise design and how this distinguishes them from ‘traditional’ businesses, allowing them to transform the broader economy. June 2022 Furniture poverty affects millions of people across the UK, people who are living without essential furniture items such as beds, cookers or fridges. There is support out there but it can be very challenging to access. End Furniture Poverty has carried out research into possible solutions to Furniture Poverty, and provides help and support to navigate the patchwork of furniture provision currently available. This webinar examines the extent and impact of living in furniture poverty; the provision of furniture in social housing and the support End Furniture Poverty (EFP) can provide to social landlords considering the creation of furnished tenancy schemes. March 2022 This webinar, held by the Fair Tax Foundation team went through the benefits of gaining the Fair Tax Mark and how it can contribute to the goals of social enterprises. The Fair Tax Mark accreditation scheme seeks to encourage and recognise businesses that pay the right amount of corporate income tax at the right time and in the right place. It is the gold standard of responsible tax conduct.
