    Jericho Construction are experts in high-end large domestic extensions, full house refurbishments and rebuilds across Birmingham. We also do small/medium sized commercial projects.

    We’re seeking a highly motivated general builder to join our team and lead the way on exciting projects!

    Jericho Construction is one of seven social enterprises operated by Jericho to help people who face real and significant challenges in getting a job. These could include trauma, insufficient work experience, health & wellbeing needs, education barriers and communication challenges.

    In this role, you’ll be involved in a variety of tasks, including:

    • One or more of; Carpentry, Plastering, Bricklaying, Plumbing.
    • Supervising workers and subcontractors
    • Managing small projects
    • Check work is carried out safely
    • Complete records for site reports

    Other tasks

    • Undertake training in-house or off site as agreed with the manager, in addition to routine training for Health and Safety and First Aid or any other training agreed with the manager
    • Any other reasonable duties the manager asks of you

    Person Specification

    Essential:

    We’re looking for someone who:

    • Has experience in some or all of the areas mentioned above.
    • Has a solid understanding of construction processes and a commitment to health and safety.
    • Is committed to continuous training and development
    • Has the ability to demonstrate an understanding and commitment to our values.
    • Can manage and motivate crew members, promoting a safe and productive work environment.
    • Addresses challenges and problem-solve effectively.
    • Will oversee daily construction activities and ensure adherence to plans and specifications.

    Desirable

    • Leadership skills
    • Has experience coordinating with subcontractors and ensure timely completion of tasks.
    • Has experience maintaining accurate project documentation and reporting.
    • Has experience conducting quality inspections and identify areas for improvement.
