News Get ready for Social Enterprise Day Calling all social enterprises - Social Enterprise Day 2022 is on Thursday 17 November. The day is a great platform to help raise awareness and understanding of social enterprise and make some noise about your social enterprise and the way your business is making a difference.At SEUK we’ve been working on three different ways that you can get involved this year. Social media This Social Enterprise Day we want to celebrate the work of the wonderful social enterprise community. We’re asking you to take to social media to tell everyone about what you or your social enterprise does. You could also post about some of the people from your team who make it happen. Member updates Celebrating Global Social Enterprise Day 2022 – event at TRAMPOLINE The 17th of November marks Global Social Enterprise Day – a day to recognise and celebrate organisations who are implementing the social enterprise business model to address problems such as the unemployment crises faced by refugee communities or the ongoing homelessness crisis across the UK.Together, TRAMPOLINE, Breaking Barriers and TERN are hosting an event to bring their networks together to celebrate their trainees, clients and social entrepreneurs they support. Throughout the evening we will be hearing from budding entrepreneurs, and the volunteers and business leaders who support their ambitions. Mission Critical – State of Social Enterprise Survey 2023 The State of Social Enterprise is our flagship research into the key trends and issues affecting our business movement. Titled 'Mission Critical', the report shows a growing sector that is not only profitable and productive but truly pioneering. We estimate that there are 131,000 social enterprises across the country, representing almost one in 42 of all UK businesses – and we find they are not only helping people and planet but also boosting our economy, turning over around £78 billion and re-investing £1 billion in profit into their vital missions. Buy Social Corporate Challenge – Year 6 Impact Report Launched in 2016, the Buy Social Corporate Challenge was set up to encourage corporates to use their everyday procurement spend to create positive social and environmental impact. Starting with seven founding partners the programme has grown to include 30 large businesses ranging from pharmaceuticals to finance. The Year 6 Report looks back at the impact of this programme which has now seen £255 million collectively spent with social enterprise suppliers by Buy Social Corporate Challenge Partners.
