Sign up to the Buy Social Corporate Challenge: This initiative will see a number of pioneering big businesses collectively spend £1bn with social enterprises by 2020. Partners will receive a package of support from Social Enterprise UK. The initiative is being run in partnership with the Cabinet Office and Business in the Community.

In January 2013 the Social Value Act came into effect, which requires all public bodies in England, including local authorities, to consider how the services they commission and procure might improve the economic, social and environmental well-being of the area. View our page on social value to find out why the legislation is relevant to private firms delivering public services.
